I grew up in McDowell County and from a cultural standpoint, it is certainly southern in identity. I have often retorted that it is both the northernmost southern state and the southernmost northern state because we do have such a blended identity. Ideologically, I feel that we fall into a northern perspective on the whole.
23 thg 6, 2023 · The generic 'southern' accent is a fine way to go. Then yeah, not Texas specific, that's basically anywhere from southern Ohio to Florida to Oklahoma to... just America. America sounds like that lol. More or less. But yeah. A general normal english writing style with subtle word drops is a fine way to differentiate that character.
